Beauty Blab And Beyond Reviews Carefree Beauty

BEAUTY SPOTLIGHT: Carefree Beauty

With all that's going on, don't you wish you can live life without a care in the world?

Well here's one less thing to worry about: Make up! Okay it's not free gas or cheap health insurance, but it's still something worth checking out. Introducing Carefree Beauty, a new company that will help us change the way we see and use make up - healthy, pure, and toxic-free.

Based in London, UK, Carefree Beauty is aimed at promoting beauty products without comprising your health and expectations of what high quality make up is all about. With their knowledge of increase risks in women experiencing irritation, allergies, and even cancer using toxic-ridden makeup - Carefree Beauty products are tested by the Skin Deep Environmental Working Group organization to ensure their products are 100% organic, pure and most importantly, safe for your skin.

Okay so you're probably thinking: "Wow, this all sounds lovely, but how does the product look and feel?" Well, that's where I come in. I got the chance to put several of their products to the test and the results are in!

Organic Mineral Blush

If the smooth velvety powder doesn't awe you, the rich color will. I was impressed by not only the beautiful pigment of this blush, but by how soft it was! I actually wore it to the beach and amidst the wind and sand blowing everywhere, I still looked fabulous. Destynee approves! :)

Organic Mineral Eye Shadow

Oh how I love sparkly eye shadows! The light touch of sparkles infused in their eye shadows literally made my eyes twinkled like the stars. The colors are rich, but not overwhelming - definitely a great way to play up your natural beauty. For a more intense evening look, layering the colors and blending are a breeze thanks to its ultra soft powdery finish.

Organic Lipstick

I love, love, love this lipstick! I'm super picky when it comes to lipsticks because I'm a lipgloss gal at heart. But with this, I'm willing to make an exception.

Generally when testing out lipsticks I keep three things in mind: scent (it shouldn't have any), texture (it should be smooth and easy to apply), and color (how long does it lasts?). With the Organic Lipstick, there was no smell, it was smooth like butter and the color was rich and long lasting. I must say it passed my test with flying colors - no pun intended.

All I can say is: Organic never looked and felt this good! Plus, all their products are animal cruelty free. Hmm, so it's good for my skin, good for little fluffy - I think I have another beauty brand to add on my list of favorites.

What's in for Fall: The Autumn Colours

Carefree Beauty Flawless Skin

With the Autumn season fast upon us it's a wonder where summer has
gone. Don't fret for long, fall is just THE perfect time to
sharpen up your wardrobe & try out a new look. This season it's
about getting back to nature, but with flawless skin and the look
of pure elegance.

Foundation: Know your Skin
Tone.

Before you can begin to choose makeup colours suited to your skin tone, you must
figure out what type of complexion you have. In general, skin tones fall in to
three categories: light, medium and dark. It is best to find a foundation
that matches your skin
tone
in any season.

Earthy Eyeshadow Tones: Back to Nature.

When it comes to eyes,
keep it simple. Any shades that can be found in nature are what you should
highlight your eyes with this season. We suggest Bark, Khaki and Cocoa
for lighter skin tones, and Whisper Fog, Halo, Bare and
Sage
for medium to dark toned skin.

Blush: Radiant and Glowing
Skin.

When the weather turns cool, a little extra color helps keep your face
looking radiant and glowing. We suggest Dusty
Rose
for light tones, which is a satiny sweep of sun-drenched rose with a
radiant highlighting glow. For medium tones, Foxy
Brown
, a deep velvety shade, gives cheeks a shimmering chocolate-cherry glisten. For darker tones, try Tickle,
for a soft, sunny apricot sparkle.

Lipstick: Hollywood
Retro-Glamour.

The Hollywood retro-glamour look is back. For this season, don't be
afraid to put the emphasis on your lips. For light skin tones, try Merlot,
a gorgeous deep wine colour. Courage,
a classic bright red, is great for medium tones. Finally, Kiss Cool Matte
Red is ideal for dark skin tones.

Afterglow Organic Liplove
lipsticks are one of Hollywood's best kept secrets. Celebrities have to
wear makeup everyday and are concerned with the products that are used on their
skin. So, many makeup artists have switched to products like organic lipsticks.
It is said that the average woman ingests up to four pounds of lipstick or gloss
in a lifetime. With that in mind, don't you want your lipstick to be
organic?

The Flawless Beauty Review

Organic Mineral Eye Shadows

Organic Mineral Bronzer

Organic Setting Powder

Full review is below or at the Flawless Beauty Blog

I get a lot of questions about mineral make-up and natural or organic make-up brands. I am not a regular make-up wearer but I do know that mineral make-up is much talked about these days. Afterglow Mineral Cosmetics is free of synthetic dyes, paraben preservatives and irritants. Afterglow offers a full range of make-up and colors which will make it hard to resist not ordering a ton of new make-up!I was very pleased with the products I tried, my favorite being the Organic Lipstick do to the fact that I regularly wear lip color of some sort. My lips felt conditioned and soft after applying.Overall, I am happy to see more toxic free make-up options and I am curious how the eyeliner would hold up... Click here to order online.

Marteverden Reviews Afterglow with Carefree Beauty

From Norway but English below...

Anmeldelse! After Glow - Organic Mineral Blush

Det må bli i fargen"First Blush" - utrolig fin farge. Dette kan bli en av favorittblushene mine! Frakten på CareFreeBeauty er bare 30 kroner til Norge - slettes ikke verst.

Review! After Glow - Organic Mineral Blush:
I've been using this blush from CareFreeBeauty for about a week now. I've tried the organic mineral blush in these colours: "First Blush"(shimmer), "Smitten" (matte) and "Peachy"(shimmer). I really love these blushes! They are easy to apply and the colours are absolutely lovely! I think I have to buy a full size of the Organic Mineral Blush - I'm in love with the colour "First blush".

The summer's hottest makeup is made from minerals

Mining for beauty By COLETTE BOUCHEZ at nydailynews.com

"The look of the season is natural, glowing, glistening skin - with nary a flaw the eye can see.

The "it" product of the season promises all that: It's natural mineral makeup - mined from the earth - that hides wrinkles, gives a sheer glow and skin-boosting benefits.

Women are snapping it up on home shopping networks, and brides swear by it for big-day beauty.

"Because the base of mineral makeup is titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, which have natural anti-inflammatory properties, it can have a calming effect on the skin and for many people it won't aggravate conditions like acne or rosacea," says Dr. Kathryn Frew, a dermatologist at Juva MediSpa in Manhattan.

These minerals are also natural sunscreens - so most mineral makeup has an SPF of 15 or higher. Bare Minerals, credited as the pioneer of mineral makeup, even carries a seal of approval from the Skin Cancer Foundation.

"I wouldn't use it as my sole source of protection, but most loose mineral powders are a great way to touch up your sunscreen during the day," says Dr. Ellen Marmur, chief of dermatologic and cosmetic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

First developed in the mid 1970s, mineral makeup was intended to do away with potential irritants, like fragrances and dyes and preservatives found in traditional cosmetics, plus preservatives like parabens, which some studies linked to cancer.

Today, not all companies play by these unspoken rules.

"Some mineral products contain less of these irritating ingredients than traditional makeup, but some can contain as much or more, so don't rely solely on the term 'mineral' alone - you really have to read the entire label to see what you are getting," says Frew.

But even among those that offer all-mineral formulas, there's another dividing line: products that contain "bismuth oxychloride" and those that don't.

A kind of "pseudomineral" made from copper, lead and chlorine byproducts, it's used as a filler and to create a pearlized, anti-aging effect. But purists like Kristin Adams, president of Afterglow Cosmetics, says looking young and dewy has its price.

"We don't use bismuth oxychloride because many women are allergic to it and either break out and/or itch - plus we prefer the more semi-matte look of the non-bismuth formula," says Adams.

Frew says when used in significant quantities, bismuth oxychloride can irritate acne and rosacea, so if you have these problems try to avoid it, or check to see how far down on the ingredient label it is - lower is better..."

Afterglow Cosmetics Product Review On Organic Mineral Makeup

Review by Image and Style News

Afterglow cosmetics product review on organic mineral makeup. I’ve recently been in search of a new mineral makeup. Since I have semi only borderline combination skin I find that mineral makeup gives me the best coverage and it keeps my skin from looking oily. Typically I use bareminerals but i’m always on the hunt for a new mineral foundation to match my skintone. I though I would try Afterglow cosmetics since they only use organic products in their makeup…including lipgloss. There mineral makeup is bismuth free which is used in many mineral makeup products including bare minerals. I love bare minerals but it sometimes can make me itch.....

I Dream of Genie Reviews Afterglow Lip Love Lipstick

It is said that the average woman ingests up to four pounds of lipstick or gloss in a lifetime. According to the Environmental Working Group, a partner of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, one-third of personal care products contain at least one chemical linked to cancer. With that in mind, I decided to begin looking for some safe alternatives, and I found a GREAT one with Afterglow Mineral Cosmetics’ Organic Love Lipsticks.Depending on the shade, these lipsticks are made with approximately 70% to 82% certified organic ingredients. Some of the key ingredients include organic jojoba seed oil, Vitamin E, organic pomegranate seed extract, organic grape seed extract, and organic apricot kernel. The rest of the ingredients are iron oxides and micas, (for pigment) and titanium oxide (for opacity), which are all pharmaceutical grade inert minerals. Organic Love is free from petroleum, gluten, paraben, nuts and the entire line of cosmetics is cruelty and gluten free. These gals over there are on the ball!Aside from all those benefits, the lipstick itself goes on light and smooth, not heavy and waxy. Your lips will feel fabulous, as though the nutrients were going to work to moisturize and condition instantaneously. For real!I highly recommend this product, so go to their site, and eat all the lipstick you want.Note: Visit the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics site, which has a ton of information about all beauty products and their ingredients. You will find it invaluable.Posted by Kristine Livadas @ I Dream Of Greenie
